The knit stitch
The elusive (for me until today) purl stitch:-)For the past month I have been teaching myself to crochet, and it has worked pretty well. My grandmother taught me the basics when I was 8, but I could never get past the slip stitch and making chains. I watched a few YouTube videos and that really helped, as well as buying a learn to crochet book. I made scarves and hats and gave them as Christmas gifts. Emma came home from church a few weeks ago and was learning how to knit. I admit, this is something I have always wanted to do but never succeeded when I tried to learn the first time, even with the YouTube videos. I bought a book which was more confusing than not and watched a few more videos and finally learned casting on and the knit stitch, but could not for the life of me learn the purl stitch. ( For those of you who do not understand a word of what I am saying, just stay with me a little bit longer:-) Today I was finally able to conquer the purl stitch:-) Up above is the proof:-) And yay for me--I have blogged everyday this week and everyday of the new year:-)
