So today was a pretty uneventful day for us, and after yesterday, it was a welcome respite. School was long for me yesterday, and the morning/evening after were long as well. Caleb was up while it was still dark, as was Emma. I was up at 6:15, but couldn't get moving enough that we weren't late to KDO. Caleb was upset when I dropped him off because he forgot his lunch, and was mad that I couldn't just go home and bring it to him, so we had to have another talk about responsibility and what it means, which just served to upset him more. What a great way to start the school week! So, the rest of us were late because I had to go back home and get Jake dressed in clothes instead of pjs. Once at school, Jake fell somehow in his class and got a fat lip, and Emma was just tired and whiny. Our day was messed up since the hayride was cancelled, and at naptime we had 1 little girl who cried for her mom for 45 minutes! Not soft crying either, but annoying, loud, make you pull your hair out crying. And the really frustrating thing was that no one down the hall would help us with her. I felt very left alone to deal with her. So we tried to talk to her mom, and I am almost hoping she just doesn't come back, or that her mom will come pick her up early--it was very disruptive not only to our class but to the one next door. She just wouldn't shut up! If it were Emma, she would definately have received a swat!
Anyway, today was much more relaxing. I really wish I hadn't agreed to teach 2 days a week, but now I know and can plan better next year. I am still contemplating asking to go to 1 day in January, but we will see what happens. Today we went grocery shopping and to Hobby Lobby and the bank and Walgreens. We also ran through "Old McDonald's " so the kids could have something to eat and I could get more Monopoly pieces. I am semi-obsessed with winning something great. So far I have only won a small drink and a free game download, but you never know:-) I am attempting to make Emma a peasant top, so I bought fabric for that today--hopefully I can piece together the pattern tonight and get going on that tomorrow. Talk to everyone soon!
